Joan Smalls, la modelo!!

Joan Smalls es mi modelo del momento. Es la modelo. No ha cumplido los 24 y ya ha desfilado en las pasarelas más importantes del mundo. Chanel, Carolina Herrera, Balmain, Givenchy, Altuzarra...Una larga lista de diseñadores han contado con ella para presentar sus últimas colecciones. Mucho se ha hablado de nuevas modelos llegadas de Rusia, e incluso de modelos chinas, con motivo de la última edición de la Mercedes Benz Madrid Fashion Week. Pues bien, ahora toca hablar de ella, de Joan Smalls, una modelo discreta y con gran personalidad que se ha hecho que un hueco más que respetable en el mundo de la moda.

Joan Smalls is my favourite model . For me she is "the model". Barely 24  years old, she has already owned the the most important runways in the world.Chanel, Carolina Herrera, Balmain, Givenchy,   Altuzarra ... A long list of the most influential designers have relied on her to present their newest collections. Much has been talked about new models arriving from Russia, and even Chinese models, due to the latest edition of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid. Well, now it's her turn, it's time to talk about  Joan Smalls, a discrete model with a great personality, who has made of the fashion world her personal reign.

La modelo puertoriqueña también ha protagonizado numerosas portadas en las publicaciones más importantes de moda del mundo, e incluso se ha atrevido con el mundo de la música, eso sí sólo como "figurín", apareciendo en un vídeo del cantante Ricky Martin en 2008. Había comenzado su carrera de la mano de la agencia Elite, en Nueva York en 2007. Pero ha sido en  2010, cuando se ha convertido en imprescindible en las semanas de la moda de todo el mundo. Yo, no sólo la encuentro bella, creo que destila carisma, sensualidad y, al mismo tiempo seriedad y profesionalidad cada vez que se sube a la pasarela. Sus apariciones públicas tampoco dejan indiferente a nadie. Yo misma he destacado en  el blog muchos de los looks con los que brilla, cada vez que  acude a un evento.

The Puerto Rican model has also appeared in numerous covers in the major publications in the fashion world, and has even tried the music world, appearing in a video of singer Ricky Martin in 2008. He began his career at the Elite agency in New York in 2007. But it was in 2010, when it has become essential in the fashion weeks around the world. I find her, not just beautiful, I also think she's the very expression of  charisma, sensuality, being reliable and professional every time she steps onto the catwalk. Her public appearances are also stunning. I myself have featured on the blog many of her best looks with which she sparkles every time she comes out.

Elegante y carismática,  Joan Smalls seduce con su mirada felina. Camaleónica como pocas, se reinventa en cada una de sus apariciones. Será por eso que la mayoría de los diseñadores la quieren en sus desfiles? Aquí vemos que ha desfilado para casi todos, qué más se puede pedir que poder hacer lo que una ama y además cosechar un éxito semejante?

Elegant and charismatic, Joan Smalls seduces with her feline look. Chameleonic like few others, she is reinvented each time after time. Maybe that's why most designers want in their shows. We can see she has worked for the greatest, what else can you ask for, than doing what you've always dreamed and also reaching so high?

Hoy os presento una marca que he descubierto, y que me ha gustado mucho. Se llama TIBI, y aquí os dejo algunas de las fotos de su campaña para esta primavera verano. Es muy minimalista, un estilo que me encanta y que puede resultar tanto o más elegante que otros estilo más elaborados. Líneas puras y colores muy bien seleccionados para una colección muy fresca. Aunque todavía tardaremos un poco en poder ponernos prendas así, (cuando llegará la verdadera primavera?).Mientras llega el buen tiempo, podemos disfrutar de esta colección, imaginando lo suaves y cómodos que son los tejidos, lo bien confeccionadas que están las prendas, y el aire de lujo relajado que transmiten.

Today I want to introduce you a brand that I discovered , and that Ithat I liked very much. Its name is TIBI , and here you have some pictures of its campaign for this Spring-Summer season. It is conceived in a very minimalist style, which  I love, but its garments may result  equally elegant than any others, in more elaborated style. Pure lines and smartly selected colors brings us as a result a very cool collection. Although it will take a while for usto wear clothes like that, (when will  real spring weather come?). Meanwhile, we may enjoy this collection, imagine the softness of their fabrics, like comfortable tissues, but excellent confection at the same time, and give us an idea of the relaxed air of luxury transmitted.

Cálzate a la moda, como se lleva ahora

En primavera, es normal que haya días muy soleados, otros en los que de repente las temperaturas descienden, y otros en los que, como hoy, la lluvia es la clara protagonista. Ante tanto cambio, a veces nos devanamos un poco los sesos pensando en algún tipo de calzado de entre tiempo, que podamos utilizar en cualquiera de las ocasiones que os he presentado. Hace un par de semanas que he encontrado la opción perfecta. Se hacen llamar hi-tops, pero son deportivas de inspiración ochentera, las que llamábamos "de basket", que vuelven a adueñarse de las calles.

A couple of weeks ago, I've found the perfect choice. They call them hi-tops, but they're actually eighties inspired sneakers, which we used to call "basketball shoes", returning to take over the streets

Puedes combinarlas con un vestido delicado, unos vaqueros (recuerda, largos o cortos), o con unos legging, porque son el calzado perfecto para modernizar nuestros armarios esta primavera. Pintarse las uñas color ESPERANZA!!

En un día tan primaveral como el de hoy, he decidido darle a mis uñas un toque de moda. Dicen que es una oda al optimismo llevar las uñas de colores alegres, y debe ser verdad, yo cada vez que me miro las manos, me da el subidón, me lleno de energía y tengo más ganas de salir a la calle a disfrutar de mi ciudad, en un día tan soleado como el que disfrutamos hoy. Me ha gustado tanto el resultado, que he querido compartirlo con vosotras.
On a spring day like today, I decided to give my nails a fashion touch color of fashion. They say it's an ode to optimism wear brightly colored nails, and it must be true, every time I look at my hands, I feel the rush, the energy, and I have more desire to go outside to enjoy my city, on a sunny day as we're enjoying today. I like the result so much that I want to share it with you.

Qué os parece? Para aquellas a las que les guste este color, deciros que quizá lo encontreis en Sephora. Yo lo compre hace tiempo, la temporada pasada, o quizá la anterior. Pero quien sabe si lo podais encontrar este año. Si no es así, siempre podeis haceros con un rosa fucsia, o algún color vivo que os alegre el día.

El "Efecto" Primark

En estos tiempos de recesión económica, somos conscientes de la necesidad que hay de reducir gastos y apretarnos el cinturón. Sin embrago hay buenas noticias para las adictas al shopping. La cadena de moda Primark se convierte, una temporada más, en una elección genial a la hora de adquirir moda al mejor precio. 
Primark es una cadena de tiendas de moda irlandesa llegó a España en el año 2006, inaugurando una tienda en el centro comercial Plenilunio. Desde el primer momento se distinguió por sus precios asequibles en prendas de lo más cool, y a día de hoy es una opción de lo más válida para que las más fashionistas, sigamos renovando nuestros armarios, sin sentirnos culpables por vaciar nuestros bolsillos.
In these times of economic recession, we are aware of the necessity for us to reduce costs and tighten our belts. However, there are some good news for those addicted to shopping. The fashion chain Primark, arises one more season as a great choice for purchasing fashion clothes at the best price.
Primark is an Irish chain of fashion stores which arrived in Spain in 2006, opening a store in the mall Plenilunio. From the first moment it was related to low prices on very stylish collections, and today is a very valid option for most fashionistas, as we can renew our closets without feeling guilty about emptying our pockets.

Primark, con su moda low-cost ha ganado popularidad en poco tiempo, sobre todo gracias a su buen hacer en diseño. Y es que aunque no poseen un gabinete de diseño propiamente dicho, disponen de "un equipo que combina diseño, compras y control de producción, que selecciona estilos, compra por el mundo y cuida el merchandisisng", explicaba en 2008 Geoff Lancaster, director de asuntos externos de la matriz de Primark, ABF.

La cadena no ha invertido demasiado en publicidad. Sin embargo sus llamativos diseños hacen que el boca a boca haya llegado hasta algunas de las bloggers más seguidas en nuestro país, lo que ha hecho que la cadena aumente sus beneficios año tras año. Hoy cuenta con más de 20 tiendas en todo el país, y sus beneficios han aumentado hasta un16% en el primer trimestre de 2012.
Estos datos son importantes a la hora de valorar que la cadena crece a pesar de la crisis económica que nos azota, pero lo más importante, como ya dije antes, son sus diseños, frescos y actuales. Ahí van algunas de sus propuestas para la primavera-verano 2012.

La mítica chaqueta  de Chanel, creada por Coco Chanel en el año 1925, se ha convertido en la prenda más característica de la casa. Os dejo aquí un vídeo sobre el paso a paso de su elaboración. Parece fácil, verdad? Creo que después de ver el vídeo no pensareis lo mismo.

El vídeo está rodado en el atelier de la casa, en París y forma parte de un proyecto en forma de libro titulado "The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's Classic Revisited", ideado por Karl Lagerfeld y Carine Roitfeld. Merecido homenaje a una las prendas más famosas de la historia de la moda.
The video was shot at the  house's atelier, in Paris, and is part of a project including a book entitled "The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's Classic Revisited", designed by Karl Lagerfeld, Carine Roitfeld. A tribute to one of the most famous garments of fashion history.
